We’ve been granted space to GROW even more crops at Eden’s Organic Garden Center and CSA Farm in Balch Springs! We planted two varities of onions in February and it'd tine to weed and fertilize again and we need a few volunteers to help!

If you haven’t discovered this hidden gem just outside the city of Dallas, you’re in for a treat. Stop by for a brief tour, and help us weed and fertilize two rows of onions that will be included in our market sales throughout the community at WIC clinics and onsite at Owenwood Farm during our Fresh Stop Farm Stand. If you’re available, please register and come out, get your hands dirty, and learn a little about Eden's and onions!

If you're curious about topics ranging from conservation practices to obtaining your farm number, this event is for you! Join us at the Mugs On The Square Coffee Shop located at 1123 Main St, Commerce, TX for Coffee & Conversation! We'll sift through questions and hot topics. Reduce food waste by using fruit scraps to make a wide variety of vinegars guided by your own creativity and imagination!

Join a fun and knowledgeable group of Dallas County Master Gardeners as they demonstrate and explain, with step by step instructions, how to make your own shelf stable fruit vinegar.

It’s a very simple process using tools you may have at home. Vinegars are versatile and can be used on salads, as a marinade, and in a variety of recipes. Fresh, homemade vinegar has great health benefits and is easy to make.

The class includes a vinegar tasting and an informative handout.

No prior experience needed - just bring your curiosity and an open mind. You’ll leave confident, inspired, and ready to start your first batch at home!

Join us on the farm to help tend crops, pull weeds, and many other farm tasks. Your time and energy supports the work of Owenwood Farm in growing food for the community!

Volunteers also get the benefit of learning more about how seasonal fruits and veggies grow, what it means to use organic and regenerative practices, and more about GROW North Texas' efforts to improve the local food system.

Please wear outdoor, weather-appropriate clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots work best), and bring a water bottle (preferably reusable - there are water filling stations inside the Owenwood Neighbor Space building)).

All participants must complete the volunteer waiver which is available here.

Have you ever considered making sourdough bread but found the process intimidating? From maintaining a starter to sourcing special ingredients and mastering kneading techniques, it can feel like a lot to take on. This class focuses on making sourdough easy and accessible.

Join us for a demonstration covering every step of making sandwich-style sourdough. We will discuss the necessary tools and ingredients, walk through each major stage of the process, and provide samples of the finished product.

The session will be presented by Dallas County Master Gardener, Glen McGee.
