Managing the business side of farming is not most people's favorite, but it can be a key to success. Starting with the right information will help you make the best decisions for your farm project. This virtual webinar will cover common legal questions that local farmers have, including insurance, forming a corporation or other entity, employees & volunteers, and other topics. The information is not a substitute for individual legal advice, but will give you the basics on these topics and suggestions on how to find the right answers for your farm or small food business.

Presenter Judith McGeary is an attorney, regenerative farmer, and founder of the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance (FARFA).  Judith has 16 years of experience providing technical assistance for farmers on a wide range of regulatory issues. FARFA advocates for common-sense, scale-appropriate regulations to support independent farmers and ranchers and help rebuild a resilient, diverse local food system.
