Agritourism refers to people visiting working farms or other agricultural operations for the purpose of enjoyment, education, or other active involvement.  Agritourism encompasses a wide variety of activities and provides a means for farmers to diversify and supplement their income.  Presenters for this class include: Megan Neubauer, Helen Dulac and Hyiat El-Jundi.  Megan Neubauer co-founded Pure Land Farm with her father Jack in 2012, producing high quality fruits and vegetable using regenerative agriculture methods. They use agritourism to engage with and educate the public about growing food to build support for local and regenerative agriculture while feeding their customers.  Helen Dulac joined Grow North Texas in April 2023 as the USDA Grant Program Manager. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in sustainability and environmental education to the Grow North Texas team. She is a backyard gardener and learned how to can and make jams and jellies from the Dallas County Master Gardeners as a fundraising activity. In two years, this hobby led to winning 4 ribbons from the State Fair of Texas Arts and Crafts canning competition.

Join us as we discuss some of the many options for diversifying your income through Agritourism and other services and value-added products.
