If you've been around GROW North Texas for a while, you've heard us talk on and on about urban farming. You've heard us encourage you to get a farm and track number and designate your backyard as an urban farm. Well, one of our staff did it and wants to show you an example of a "microfarm" in a suburban backyard. 

This tiny farm has rainwater collection, raised and in ground beds, a balcony growing space, container garden, simple shade cloth structures, 7 fruit trees, many varieties of spicy peppers, native plants and a small pond.

On Labor Day, tour Peppers and Petals Farm. Stay and help take down the shade cloth and put up temporary fencing around the Fall growing space. You will have the chance to drive in T Posts and see how easy it can be to create an affordable and temporary fence in any space!
