PRESERVING WHAT WE GROW
Pickling with the McClure's

SATURDAY JANUARY 31st, 2026
OWENWOOD FARM AND NEIGHBOR SPACE

1451 JOHN WEST ROAD DALLAS, TX
10:00AM - 12:00PM

Join us for a hands-on pickling workshop focused on preserving the harvest and celebrating local food. In this class, The McClures will guide participants through the art and science of pickling cucumbers, sharing practical techniques for safely preserving fresh produce at home.
Using locally grown cucumbers generously donated by Big Tex in Sunny South Dallas, participants will learn the basics of brining, seasoning, and storage while gaining a deeper understanding of how food preservation helps reduce waste and extend the life of our harvests.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, gardeners, and anyone curious about simple, traditional methods of food preservation!

The workshop will be at Owenwood Neighbor Space, 1451 John West Rd, Dallas. A water fountain and water bottle fill station are available. Park behind the building. You will see a Grow North Texas Workshop sign.
